Premium Technology
Premium Servers are based on industry standards and feature the latest in technology from Cisco, VMware, and NetApp. These servers are built for high availability and security from the ground up. On average, a server on our network is 2x-5x times more peformant than our competitors.
You can use such high performance servers for any production server role, such as database servers, active directory, web applications, file services for your company, accounting servers, and much more.
Optimizations
Each virtual machine resides on a fully-redundant, 10Gbps high-performance network for powerful network scalability. More importantly, each virtualization cluster is optimized by Tier 3 analytics, which actively optimizes each server on the fly. As server demand changes, the resources will be designated to you so that your virtual machine never waits for resources.
Performance to Spare
Unlike our competition, we carefully monitor where all your virtual machines reside, all so that every VM cluster has 50% capacity to burst when needed. This ensures that your server has the headroom needed meet the demands of periodic loads and traffic.
Optimizations
Premium Servers are used for the production or live environment and are on their own dedicated VLAN (virtual local area network). With multi-tenant all data that is stored or transferred over the platform is virtualized and contained in your environment enabling you as the customer to have a fully secure network. The servers can been accessed by direct connection, user VPN, or point-to-point VPN's from your corporate office. The SAN is virtualized using NetApp MultiStore technology that places the virtual SAN directly on the network assigned to your Premium Server environment. You can also segregate this environment even more by enabling zones to separate server communications.
Backups and Disaster Recovery
- Each server is backed up disk-to-disk on a daily basis
- The backup is replicated to a secondary data center at least 700 miles away for disaster recovery
- The backups are retained for 14 days in both locations
CDN (Content Delivery Network)
- The CDN is a content delivery platform that accelerated website delivery of images, web pages, video, games, social media, and software downloads
- IT maximizes user experience through high performance and reliability
- The CDN is more cost-effective to use for content delivery vs. your own servers
- The pricing for CDN is the same price for bandwidth - however the more you use it the more it will reduce load on your server and the price will go down.
API
Premium Servers offer full API access to everything you see in our control system via Xml/Json or SOAP.

Clone to the Lab Environment
Ever needed a way to test an install or an upgrade of a server without affecting the current server that is live? You can create a clone of any server in production and move it to the lab environment automatically.
Snapshots
Snapshots allow you to take a point-in-time snapshot of the server for up to 10 days, so that you can roll back to the previous version with ease. This is used for cases where installing a new piece of software could cause you issues and require a rollback. Snapshots track all changes to the server at all times while it is running, so you can revert the changes if needed.
The Control Panel
The Control Panel is Tier 3’s custom built, easy-to-use hosting and account management center. It is your central source for managing Farm Pools, support requests, billing information and more.
